From Dieterich Herndobler:
I’m sorry for the delay in sending these pictures, but I finally managed to capture some shots of the Still & Box fire at 9160 South Green Street around 9 AM. I was driving home after finishing my shift when I spotted the smoke and decided to follow the incident. By the time I arrived, firefighters were already spraying water on the blaze. The fire was concentrated in the rear section of a massive truss roof structure. It seemed like the situation was under control once they got enough water on it. Unfortunately, I didn’t have my DSLR with me at the time, and the location made it difficult to get a clear shot. There was a chain-link fence blocking the view, and the building was set far back from Vincennes Avenue. Plus, the sun was behind the flames, making it tough to get a good angle.
The initial crews reported issues with their water supply, which slowed things down at first. But once they resolved that problem, the fire was quickly brought under control. These photos were taken from the west side of Vincennes, which offered the clearest view of the flames. I hope they give you a sense of what happened.
[Attached are four photos showing different angles of the fire, including the intense flames and the aftermath.]
