Buffalo Grove Fire Department recently introduced their new Ferrara engine into service early this summer, and the tower ladder was put into operation a few weeks ago. This transition required some reorganization of equipment across the stations, and the current setup reflects these changes.
Station 25 now houses both the new Ferrara tower ladder 25 (unit 235) and the reserve E-ONE tower ladder (unit 236), along with an ambulance and Utility 26. The utility vehicle is deployed when there's enough staffing to operate it with two firefighters. It responds to ambulance calls to reduce wear on the tower ladder and also assists during motor vehicle accidents and fire incidents.

Station 26 is home to the new Ferrara pumper (unit 217) and the reserve E-ONE engine (unit 213). The station also has an in-service ambulance, a backup ambulance, the squad unit, the battalion chief’s vehicle, a dive trailer, a new Polaris ATV, and several staff cars.

At Station 27, you'll find the KME quint, the KME reserve engine (unit 218), an ambulance, and a boat.
There are ongoing discussions about potentially moving the tower ladder to Station 26, which is located in the heart of town. If that happens, the KME quint would relocate to Station 25, and the new Ferrara engine would be assigned to Station 27.
