Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share some quick updates on a fire incident I witnessed earlier today. Around this afternoon, Chicago Ridge and mutual aid companies were dispatched to an apartment building located at 10619 South Major Avenue in Oak Lawn. It was quite a scene—Oak Lawn Engine 1 arrived first and quickly reported smoke coming from the attic area. Fortunately, they managed to get the fire under control within about 10 minutes. Just to be safe, a Full Still alarm was issued as a precautionary measure.
On a lighter note, take a look at the picture below. That’s Oak Lawn's brand-new Battalion 1 vehicle, a Chevrolet Tahoe. It’s impressive how modern and efficient these response vehicles have become.
Attached, you’ll find several photos I took during the incident. The first one shows the apartment building where the fire occurred, while the second captures Oak Lawn’s command car in action. There are also shots of the firefighters working diligently to extinguish the flames and ensure everything is secure.
