This is what Steve Redick reported:
On Tuesday evening at around 100 block of N Wisner, it seemed that some workers were up on the roof when they first noticed the fire. By the time I got there, the alarms were already going off, signaling an evacuation. It sounded like all the search operations had been completed. The flames were visible coming from the rear attic area. However, because of the angle of the setting sun and the difficulty accessing the area, it was quite challenging to get a clear shot. The firefighters deployed a tower ladder and used some external hoses, making sure the neighboring buildings were well protected. Eventually, I managed to catch a glimpse of the North Maine reconstruction project. Des Plaines’ Engine 1 (which I believe might be a backup unit) was busy setting up a large-diameter water supply line to Park Ridge. The whole incident wrapped up fairly quickly, but it still caused significant damage, with a considerable portion of the roof completely burnt through. I’ve uploaded the video here for everyone to see.
