Long-chain nylon has excellent performance, low water absorption, good low-temperature resistance, dimensional stability, high strength, good toughness, wear-resisting and shock-absorbing, etc. It can be used to make textile fibers, shock-resistant wear-resistant tubing, hoses, and cable and wire protection. Sets, various mechanical parts such as bearings, gears and other precision electrical components and automotive filters, bumpers, brake handles, accelerator control sleeves, etc., can also be used for advanced coatings and adhesives.

Due to the rapid development of China's automotive, electronics, machinery and other industries, the demand for long carbon chain nylon is increasing. Among them, the automotive industry has the largest demand, which accounts for about 50% of the market share. It is mainly used for manufacturing oil pipelines and clutch hoses, replacing the original copper pipes, and reducing oil leakage and fire caused by collision wear between metal pipes. Imports monopoly market

Although the application prospects are very attractive, the production of long carbon chain nylon is almost blank in the country. More than 10,000 tons of demand per year are monopolized by imported materials.

However, nylon 11 is mostly used in high-end applications due to the complex route of the synthesis process, the harsh production conditions, the large number of synthesis steps, and the high cost. At present, only a few companies in countries such as France, Germany, the United States, and Japan are producing internationally. The output of nylon 11 and nylon 12 in the world is more than 150,000 tons, accounting for about 10% of the total nylon production. Nylon 1212 was first studied by DuPont in 1988. DuPont uses butadiene as the starting material to synthesize dodecadicarboxylic acid. Due to the long production process and the high cost, DuPont finally gave up its industrialization efforts.

The research and development of long carbon chain nylon in China began in the 1950s. The Institute of Technology of the Second Industrial Bureau of Harbin, Zhengzhou University and other units have successively carried out small-scale experimental research on nylon 11, and some research institutes and chemical plants have also engaged in This research and pilot test, but because the raw material and process problems are not well resolved, China's nylon 11 has not been realized industrialization. Zibo Guangtong Chemical Co., Ltd. achieved industrialization of nylon 1212 in 1998, but its annual production capacity was only a few hundred tons.

Zheng Zhen told reporters that according to relevant statistics, China consumes a large amount of foreign exchange long-chain carbon nylon annually. The import volume of nylon 11 and nylon 12 reaches 10,000 tons, and the price per ton is between 100,000 and 140,000 yuan.

New energy brings new volume

With the advent of the era of energy crisis, countries around the world will use solar energy as one of the key areas for development and utilization. Because of its many advantages, such as high and low temperature resistance, long carbon chain nylons can adapt to harsh natural environments such as cold and heat, and become the main materials for solar foils. It is estimated that there will be 1.5 billion to 3 billion square meters of demand in 2011, from which it is estimated that 100,000 to 200,000 tons of long carbon chain nylon will be used in this field.

In the deserted sparsely populated desert areas of the western United States, a large number of solar power generation devices use long carbon chain nylon as a solar foil. This is mainly due to the good weather resistance and long-term UV resistance of the long carbon chain nylon, which can withstand high temperatures, low temperatures, drying, and sunlight.
