Survey shows that most European consumers will not buy electric cars for the time being

Deloitte, one of the world's four largest accounting firms, recently released a survey showing that the vast majority of potential European consumers do not have plans to buy electric cars in the short term.

Deloitte conducted a questionnaire survey of 4,760 European consumers. Only 16% of those surveyed said they had a desire to purchase electric vehicles; 53% of respondents said they would consider buying; and 31% of respondents said Will not buy or lease electric cars.

Among people who are reluctant to purchase electric vehicles, 80% of respondents believe that the lack of electric vehicle infrastructure, mileage, and charging costs are reasons why they do not consider purchasing electric vehicles. In addition, 57% of respondents are reluctant to purchase more expensive electric cars than ordinary cars.

David Raistrick, director of automotive industry at Deloitte, said: “Automakers will face challenges in setting electric vehicle prices. Therefore, the government’s tax relief policy for electric vehicles is very important.”
