It can be seen that Yuchai’s product development history is a history of independent innovation. Focusing on product dynamics, energy-saving and green manufacturing, Yuchai takes “the use of excellence and leadership to meet the public's demand for power” as its mission and follows the core philosophy of “Green Development, Harmony and Win-Win”, and adhering to “advance ideas, leading applications”. The concept of product design has spared no effort in developing engines with both dynamic, energy-saving and environmental-friendly features. These rich and innovative cultures are unique to Yuchai and are driving Yuchai’s independent innovation to a new level.

Second, Yuchai built a relatively complete independent innovation platform. Yuchai's independent innovation platform includes three aspects: the Yuchai Engineering Research Institute, the innovative talent echelon, and the R&D route that combines production, study and research. Yuchai Engineering Research Institute, as a state-level technical center, is the frontline of Yuchai's product R&D and provides Yuchai’s R&D team with a big stage to display their talents. The key for enterprises to achieve technological innovation is talent. In Yuchai, talents have a reasonable echelon structure, which is based on different professions and levels, engaging in original technological innovation, introducing digestive technology innovation, and continuously improving technological innovation. This kind of personnel team with Yuchai’s characteristics has enabled senior technical experts, doctors, ordinary engineers or workers’ technicians to carry out independent innovation in different fields, forming a good atmosphere for all employees to carry out independent innovation.
