Inventory of China's truck market in 2010, high sales of heavy trucks


According to the statistics of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in November 2010, the country produced 346,900 trucks, an increase of 13.12% from the previous period and a year-on-year increase of 23.22%; sales of 315,600 units were up by 8.54% month-on-month and 18.59% year-on-year. From January to November 2010, the nationwide trucks produced and sold 3.5483 million vehicles and 3.5457 million vehicles, both over 3.5 million.

In November 2010, with the exception of a slight decrease in the sales of semitrailer tractors, the production and sales of other types of tractors have increased at different levels. In November 2010, the production and sales of wagons reached 251,100 units and 234,800 units, an increase of 9.47% and 3.16% from the previous period and a year-on-year increase of 20.33% and 19.27%. The production and sales of semitrailer tractors sold 30,700 units and 28,300 units, and the production volume increased by 0.52% compared to the previous period. Sales volume decreased by 4.74%, an increase of 16.41% and 11.06% year-on-year; sales of non-integrated trucks were 66,100 units and 52,500 units, a month-on-month increase of 35.84% and 14.54%, and a year-on-year increase of 46.61% and 15.83%.

From January to November 2010, the production and sales of wagons were 2,579,600 and 2,588,100, an increase of 22.96% and 26.13% over the same period of last year; sales and sales of semitrailer tractors were 336,100 and 334,100, an increase of 83.41% and 79.42% year-on-year; Production and sales of 632,600 units and 625,500 units were sold, an increase of 37.61% and 38.80% year-on-year.

Heavy truck production and sales growth

In November 2010, China produced 99,000 heavy trucks (including non-integrated vehicles and semitrailer tractors), an increase of 62.02% year-on-year, and sold 80,800 vehicles, an increase of 31.24% year-on-year. Among them, the production and sales of heavy trucks totaled 20,200 units and 18,300 units, an increase of 118.22% and 76.05% year-on-year; the production and sales of heavy trucks and non-integrated vehicles were 47,200 units and 34,200 units, an increase of 87.25% and 33.09% year-on-year; the production and sales of semitrailer tractors were 30,700,000 units. There were 28,300 vehicles and 16.41% and 11.06% year-on-year growth.

In November 2010, sales of heavy-duty trucks with 26 tons of total weight ≤ 32 tons totaled 5,551 units, an increase of 55.35% year-on-year. Sales of heavy trucks with 19 tons total quality ≤ 26 tons sold 9788 units. The year-on-year increase of 76.68%; sales of 300 tons of heavy-duty trucks with 14 tons of total weight ≤ 19 tons, an increase of 1.43 times year-on-year.

From the January to November 2010 sales rankings of heavy truck (including non-complete vehicles and semi-trailer tractors) production companies, the top three companies were FAW, Dongfeng, and Heavy Duty Truck; the sales volume was 218,500 units and 181,500 units respectively. And 179,200 vehicles, an increase of 70.44%, 80.28% and 53.81% respectively. The 4th to 6th companies are Shaanxi Automobile (10.02 million), Futian (9.67 million) and Baotou Beiben (4.17 million).

China Card became the only production and sales model

In November 2010, China National Card (including non-integrated vehicles and semi-trailer tractors) produced a total of 19,700 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 4.26%; sales were 19,500 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 6.21%. In November's production and sales data, China Card completed the production and sales of 13,000 vehicles and 12,800 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 9.37% and 11.40%. The production and sales of China Card Non-Complete Vehicles were 6,702 vehicles and 6,643 vehicles, an increase of 7.56% and 5.76%, respectively.

In November 2010, in the various market segments of China Card, the sales of 8 tons of total trucks with a total mass of ≤10 tons were 1,908 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 13.11%; and the total sales of 6-ton vehicles with a total mass of ≤8 tons were sold. 5158 vehicles, a year-on-year decrease of 31.52%.

From the January to November 2010 sales rankings of China Card (including non-integrated vehicles and semi-trailer tractors) production companies, the top three companies were: Dongfeng, FAW and Jianghuai, with sales volume of 81,500 units and 3.73 respectively. Millions of vehicles and 26,300 vehicles were up 28.46%, 3.37%, and 4.05% year-on-year respectively. The 4 to 6 companies are: Sichuan Nanjun (26,100 units), Qingling (1,600,000 units) and China National Heavy Duty Truck (15,600 units).

Light truck demand stability

In November 2010, the country’s light trucks (including non-integrated vehicles and semi-trailer tractors) produced and sold 174,800 vehicles and 165,900 vehicles, an increase of 12.26% and 14.20% year-on-year. Among them, the production and sales of light trucks were 165,600 units and 156,600 units, an increase of 14.60% and 17.67% year-on-year; production and sales of light-card non-integrated vehicles were 9,218 units and 9,245 units, a year-on-year decrease of 17.82% and 23.88%.

In November 2010, in the segment of light trucks, the sales of light truck trucks with a total capacity of 1.8 tons and a total mass of ≤ 3.5 tons were 83,400, an increase of 18.65% year-on-year. From the January to November sales rankings of light truck manufacturers (including non-integrated vehicles and semi-trailer tractors), the top three companies were Futian, Dongfeng and Jianghuai, with sales of 411,400, 21.19, and 167,300 respectively. Vehicles; 4 to 6 companies are Jiangling (113,500), Great Wall (91,700), and Kema (85,300).

Micro-cards keep growing

In November 2010, the national micro-card (including non-complete vehicles and semi-trailer tractors) produced and sold 52,400 vehicles and 49,500 vehicles, an increase of 26.98% and 23.37% year-on-year. Among them, 49,400 vehicles and 47,100 units of micro-cards were sold and sold, an increase of 27.24% and 17.67% year-on-year; 2994 vehicles and 2455 units were produced and sold by non-integrated micro-cards, which was an increase of 22.81% and 98.62% respectively.

From the sales rankings of micro-card manufacturers (including non-integrated vehicles and semi-trailer tractors) from January to November, the top three companies are Chongqing Chang'an, SAIC-GM-Wuling and Foton; sales are 117,500 and 93,000 respectively. The number of vehicles and 80,800 vehicles was down 0.87% year-on-year, an increase of 14.49%, and a decrease of 9.53%. 4 to 6 companies are Dongfeng (74,800), Jinbei (60,500) and Hafei (57,500).
