A groundbreaking condensate recovery technology has been successfully implemented at Sinopec Yanshan Company, marking a significant milestone in the company's energy-saving efforts. The project was launched just before the New Year, symbolizing a fresh start in sustainable operations. This innovative system was developed independently by Beijing Ziyuwan Technology Co., Ltd., a leader in energy efficiency solutions for high-consumption industries.
According to an official from Sinopec Yanshan, the adoption of this new technology has led to substantial resource savings. The company is now conserving over 8,000 tons of water and more than 300 tons of standard coal annually. These improvements translate into cost reductions of hundreds of thousands of yuan, with the initial investment expected to be recouped within two years. Beyond financial benefits, the project also helps reduce environmental pollution caused by steam dripping, condensate runoff, and wastewater discharge, significantly enhancing the on-site working environment.
Zi Yuwan’s technical team explained that steam condensate contains 20% to 30% of the heat energy found in saturated steam, making its efficient recovery crucial for energy conservation. However, traditional condensate recovery systems often face challenges such as cavitation, water hammer, and gas blockage, leading to low recovery rates and discouraging companies from investing in energy-saving upgrades. To address these issues, Zi Yuwan introduced a new closed-loop, integrated condensate recovery system with proprietary technology.
This advanced system features a unique pressure regulator combined with a cavitation elimination device, paired with a high-temperature resistant pump. It effectively prevents cavitation and steam blockage, enabling full closed-loop recovery of both condensate and secondary steam. The design emphasizes integrated system control and comprehensive heat utilization, greatly improving automation levels and maximizing energy efficiency. As a result, the workload for on-site personnel has been significantly reduced.
Beijing Ziyuwan Technology Co., Ltd. has been dedicated to energy-saving services since 2005, focusing on sectors like cement, petrochemicals, metallurgy, and power generation. Their collaboration with Sinopec subsidiaries has led to major cost reductions in motor drive systems.
