Spiral Chute Overview
The spiral chute is a modern gravity separation device designed to separate minerals based on differences in specific gravity. Utilizing the combined effects of water and gravitational friction, it effectively separates heavy, medium, and light products from the ore. This equipment is made with fiberglass lined with wear-resistant polyurethane and corundum cover, offering anti-corrosion, rust-proof, and wear-resistant properties.
The spiral chute is ideal for mining and ore processing, especially for placer mining at coastal areas, riverbanks, sandbanks, and stream banks. It features low water consumption, compact design, high concentration and recovery rates, and strong adaptability to various conditions.

Application of Spiral Chute
This equipment is suitable for metal and non-metal ores that have significant density differences, such as iron, chromite, pyrite, tin, tungsten, tantalum, niobium, gold, coal, monazite, rutile, and zircon. It can handle different feed sizes, densities, grades, and volumes. The spiral chute is ideal for processing 0.6–0.03 mm ore and placer, but high mud content may affect separation efficiency. It is widely used in iron ore, tungsten, tin, niobium-tantalum, coastal, and riverside placer processing.
Working Principle of Spiral Chute
- Fix the spiral chute vertically and secure it properly using timber.
- Feed the ore slurry into the top openings using a sand pump and adjust the slurry consistency with supplementary water.
- The slurry flows down automatically and rotates along the spiral. Under the influence of centrifugal force and rotation, the ore and sand are separated based on their specific gravity, grain size, and shape.
- The final concentrate is directed to the concentrate hopper and transported via pipe, while the tailings go to the tailings hopper and are conveyed to the pond. Remove the sand pump to complete the process.
