According to data released recently by French tire manufacturer Michelin, in April 2010, Michelin tire sales in major regions of the world all achieved year-on-year growth.
In April, Michelin's original tire sales of passenger cars in North America, China, and Europe increased by 45.8%, 34.4%, and 21.2% year-on-year, respectively; passenger car replacement tire sales rose by 12.4%, 34.1%, and 13.4% year-on-year respectively.
In April, Michelin's original truck tire sales in Japan, Brazil, and Europe increased by 160.9%, 60.1%, and 58.8% year-on-year, respectively. Truck repair tire sales rose by 15.2%, 22.7%, and 22.7% year-on-year respectively.
From January to April 2010, Michelin's original tire sales of passenger cars in China, North America, and Europe increased by 66.5%, 64.7%, and 33.6% year-on-year, respectively; passenger vehicle replacement tire sales rose by 24.8% year-on-year, respectively. 9.7% and 10.4%.
From January to April 2010, Michelin's original truck tire sales in Japan, Brazil, and North America increased by 106.5%, 55.6%, and 18.1% year-on-year, respectively; truck repair tire sales rose by 14.4%, 32%, and 24.7%, respectively.
