GM will recall 6,768 cars due to transmission defects

U.S. General Motors Corp. announced that it will recall 6,768 Chevrolet Colorado and 2011 GMC Canyon pickups in the U.S. market due to defects in vehicle transmission accessories.

General Motors Corp. submitted in a file to the U.S. National Highway Safety Administration that the adjustment clips of the recalled vehicle transmissions may not be able to fix the transmission in the correct position. This may cause the vehicle to roll over and cause driving. Members face difficulties in restarting the vehicle.

General Motors said that car dealers will replace the new transmission adjustment clips for problem vehicles for free.

At the same time, General Motors will also recall 739 SUVs and pick-up trucks due to problems with the steering column of vehicles, involving the 2011 Cadillac Escalade, the Escalade ESV and the Chevrolet Silverado.
