Despite these doubts, a letter from the Beijing New Material Development Center to Chengdu confirms that the "Chengdu-made" biodegradable corn plastic has been officially included in the procurement list for the 2008 Beijing "Green Olympics." According to the letter, up to 4 million corn plastic bags will replace traditional plastic bags, serving as packaging materials for the event.
