BASF First Showcases Temperature and High Pressure New Technology at Achema Asia Show

BASF showcased its latest temperature and high-pressure technology at AchemAsia 2010, which opened in Beijing today. This year's Achema Asia Show, the 8th International Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology Exhibition and Conference will be held from June 1st to 4th. This is BASF's third participation in the exhibition.
In the booth (23L) jointly launched by BASF and its Chinese sales partner, Beijing Orientec Co., Ltd. (Orientec), equipment and services for designing special areas of high-pressure technology with a pressure of 3,600 bar will be exhibited. The new generation of thermocouples and pressure transmitters introduced for the first time in the market will help control chemical high pressure processes, thus making the operation of the devices more secure.
"In the past eight years, BASF has provided China with hundreds of advanced thermocouples. With strong global expertise, we are now able to provide China with this significant advantage of the upgraded products." BASF's contract and technology sales Mr. Murong Tong, the manager, said: “We believe that only by being effective and safe at the same time can we guarantee the success of our operations, and technological excellence is the only way to succeed.”
In terms of high-pressure technology, a new type of pressure indicator introduced by BASF can perform pressure measurements in high-temperature areas (approximately 300 degrees Celsius), and ordinary pressure indicators cannot operate at such high temperatures at all. In this way, it is possible to measure high voltage devices in high temperature areas in this most feasible way, and no other inefficient solutions are used to ensure the safety of operations. Therefore, installing this new type of pressure indicator will contribute to the safety of the operation of the device and reduce maintenance costs.
Other highlights of the show included the development, production and manufacture of reactors, pipes, valves or various devices for operating pressures up to 3,600 bar. As a traditional project that BASF attaches great importance to, high-pressure engineering has always been highly concerned. The high-pressure era began in 1912 when Carl Bosch, a chemist and materials specialist at the time, succeeded in realizing large-scale ammonia synthesis in a dedicated factory that he designed and manufactured himself. As a result, BASF became the founder of high-pressure technology in chemical plant engineering.
But BASF not only produces high-voltage equipment, but has also been operating high-pressure process facilities and devices for decades. BASF constantly learns from the experience gained from these actual operating devices and combines its own expertise to improve and upgrade the manufactured equipment. This feedback guarantees excellent quality and durability.
