Danaher Motion signed a $12 million contract with BAE Systems' Heglungs branch to provide an electric propulsion system
December 18, 2007 - Danaher Motion, the world's leading provider of motion control solutions, announced that it has signed a contract with BAE Systems H?gglunds. Its electric propulsion system has become an important milestone in the history of the development of the new electric wheeled and tracked military vehicles of Heglungs. As a manufacturer of motion control and drive systems, Danaher Motion will develop propulsion systems including generators, traction motors and steering motors, drive electronics and auxiliary power devices. Funded by the Swedish Defense Materials Administration (FMV), Hegronz's next-generation military vehicle series has been designed with built-in power supplies for greater flexibility and practicality. This unique power supply design saves packaging material and can withstand high loads while also providing C-130 transport capabilities. The existing design is very modular and can be loaded with a hybrid electric drive system.
The signing of the contract enabled Danaher Motion to become the premier system supplier for BAE Systems' Heglungs branch. The value of the original contract was $12 million (approximately 87.6 million yuan) and included the development, testing and installation of electric drive systems for various wheeled and tracked military vehicles. The main advantage of Danaher Motion is its ability to provide unique electric vehicle hardware and software solutions that can be put into production at an effective cost and supported by a global network.

Responsible at the plant in Brno, Czech Republic.†The new propulsion system will also be used in diesel hybrid electric heavy-duty commercial vehicles with the support of the company Helgron.
After successful trials of the trial production vehicle, the Swedish Defense Materials Administration will order vehicles from the BAE Systems Hurghoff branch. The automotive platform of Heglungs will change the face of the global military in the next 20 years.
