According to the latest statistics, in the first half of this year, the export value of Taiwan's machine tool components was US$250.72 billion, which was 8.0% higher than the same period of last year. According to the analysis of Taiwan's Machinery Industry Association (TAMI), the large number of Taiwanese machine tool products exported in recent years has driven the export of machine tool components, and demand from both developed and developing countries has shown a growth trend.
TAMI said that advanced countries such as the United States, Japan, Germany, and South Korea have adopted a large number of Taiwan spare parts in order to optimize costs, while newly industrialized countries and developing countries have increased the adoption rate of Taiwanese products to enhance the competitiveness of machine tool products. Taiwan has become the most important machine tool component supply base except Japan and Germany.
Among the top three export markets for machine tool components in Taiwan are the mainland and Hong Kong, the United States, and Japan. The fourth to tenth rankings are South Korea, Germany, Malaysia, Thailand, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. The top ten export markets together accounted for 84.0% of Taiwan's machine tool component exports.
Among them, the mainland and Hong Kong accounted for 45.5% of the total export value of US$1.1452 billion, an increase of 11.3% over the same period of last year. The United States had US$30.96 million, a negative growth of 7.3% over the previous year. Japan was US$24.96 million, accounting for 9.9% of total exports, up from 11.8% last year.
